Mempool Stream Types: Trader, Topic, and Naked Streams

PolyEdge mempool filter architecture supports three core streaming types, each tailored for different quantitative workflows. Directly connected to validator P2P gossip layers, streams deliver pre-block trade executions in real time. This guide covers the configuration specification and best practices for each stream type.

1. Trader Stream (Wallet Tracking)

Use Case

Monitor specific high-conviction wallet addresses, top leaderboard performers, or whale traders. When any monitored trader executes an order (either as an active Taker or as a matched Maker), PolyEdge delivers the full transaction payload directly from the mempool pre-block, allowing copy-trading bots to replicate positions with minimum slippage.

Configuration

Pass target Ethereum/Polygon addresses in the addresses array, leaving tags and series empty:

2. Topic Stream (Tags & Series)

Use Case

Monitor entire market sectors or recurring short-term events (e.g., 5-minute Solana or Bitcoin price bands, election candidate events, tennis matches). Filter by market tags or recurring series without tracking individual wallets.

Configuration

Pass market category slugs in tags and event series slugs in series, leaving addresses empty:

• tags: Filters by market category slugs (e.g. crypto, politics, sports, solana).
• series: Filters by recurring event series slugs (e.g. sol-up-or-down-5m, itf).
